Attitude Is Everything

Do you know what makes having a great day versus a bad day? Or what makes a person so successful compared to another who may be mediocre? Their attitude. You might be facing a daunting task, or maybe just a busy day ahead with a lot going on. How you go about these things with your mindset (your attitude), is going to determine the outcome and your level of success. Let me give you an example.

You can wake up in the morning and say to yourself, “Great…, it is only Tuesday and I have another jammed-pack day with so many fires to put out. Just another day dealing with this… (you know what). I will be glad when it is Friday.” These thoughts are going to trigger negative feelings that will impact your attitude. Most likely resulting in a poor one that leads you to have a struggle of a day with a lot of difficulty and frustration. You are not going to get to the top with this kind of attitude.

Now imagine the opposite. You wake up in the morning and as soon as you wake, you tell yourself, “Today is going to be a great day. I have a lot of great things going on and a lot of people to meet and to talk with. I am going to give today 110% and have fun with it. I am going after today as if it were my last.” Now these thoughts (affirmations) are going to result in positive feelings. These feelings are going to drive a very positive attitude and set the tone for what is about to be a fantastic day.

With this strong, positive attitude, you will find yourself not only enjoying the day ahead, but when you hit some bumps in the road, you will be most resilient with allowing them to affect your positive attitude. Instead of getting upset, you might laugh and simply move on with the day. Something else also happens. You attack your work in an enthusiastic, can-do, positive mindset. “Problems” are no longer problems. You don’t get annoyed over the little things like you did in the past.

Why is this so? Because when you woke up earlier, you said to yourself (you affirmed) that you were going to give it 110% today and that you were going to live it like it were your last. These were powerful statements that you made. When the going gets tough later in the day, your subconscious mind recalls these statements and keeps you on the “rails” so to speak.

This takes some practice. Try the above tomorrow morning. Make those positive statements in the morning and be thinking about them throughout the day. They will help you create and maintain a positive attitude. And a positive attitude will result in “things going your way.” You will no longer let the little things bother you. Most importantly, people with a positive attitude attract positive results. Like attracts like. Meaning, success and great outcomes that are in your favor.

If you question this, think about someone you know who has a horrible attitude and is always complaining and swearing that there is a “black cloud” above them. Look at their results and their level of success. Chances are, they are not doing so well. Attitude is the very difference between success and failure, a win and a loss, and people living happy lives and getting what they want, and those living in misery complaining all the time. Attitude is everything!
